RIDE High Priority Safety Standard to Passengers and Drivers

RIDE Drivers are our community servers. Let’s take these steps to protect our drivers when requesting service.

  1. Respect traffic laws during pickup or drop-off. Remember to step out and wait for drivers on permitted parking areas.
  2. As much as your safety is our priority, understand our driver’s safety is your concern too.
    1. During at night, allow our driver to pick you up or drop you on areas where there is enough street light.
    2. Notice road conditions that concern safety of our drivers and assist them come out safely. We would love to drop you to your door step, but if it creates unsafe environment to our drivers, cooperate with them to ensure their safety.
    3. Always use our driver’s name when pickup because it helps them avoid taking the wrong person who might endanger their safety
    4. If drivers wish to request assistance from center in harsh road conditions, cooperate with them
  3. Cooperate with drivers to take your picture if they are feeling unsafe especially at night. Our system has a feature to take pictures that may help our team identify customers and avoid danger.

5 Steps Passengers Need to Consider for Safety

  1. If you grab one of RIDE Cars on the street, make sure to request the driver use RIDE Street Pickup Meter. Our app requests drivers to enter your phone number for trip tracking purpose. As soon as the trip starts, you’ll receive license plate number of the vehicle and you’ll be sure that our center is following up your journey.
  2. If you order through our call center 8294 or RIDE Passenger App, you’ll get license plate number of the driver. Always check the license plate before getting on board for your safety. If license plate number is different, do not get on board and notify us immediately at 8294.
  3. For more safety features, use our passenger application. Share your trip tracking with friends and family to enhance your safety especially at night. You can find this feature on your passenger app as soon as the trip starts.
  4. Create friendly relationship with your drivers. Having a pleasant experience might be boosted with a kind communication you have with drivers.
  5. Enter your drop off location on our app or tell our booking agents your final destination precisely to reduce inefficiency.

There’s emergency help if you need it

Incase of any emergency, passengers and drivers are encouraged to call the police at 991. also our app displays your live location and trip details, so you can share them with our dispatcher center. If you have any question regarding your trip, you can press the SOS button located on the map of your app and reach our call center.

There’s auto insurance on all vehicles we assign

All vehicles enlisted to serve have comprehensive auto insurance that can cover up to 40,000 ETB incase of accident occurrence. Although preventative measure is our primary focus, you have a fall back, God Forbid, incase anything happens.
